England’s forests need rescuing

[UPDATE: England is no longer selling off their forests!]

I’ve been reading about England’s forest possibly getting sold for a while now and it looks as though the dreaded time is near… unless we put a stop to it. I’m kicking myself for not posting this earlier because I had quite a few viewers from the UK visit my site today, so I hope they come back and bring more people with them! If you’re from England, you can sign a petition to save the national forests. I found out about this petition from TreeHugger so feel free to go there or directly to the campaign’s site to find out more about how England’s forests could be cut down as part of a budget-cut.

I almost clicked just about all of my categories to post this in because this truly does affect everyone and everything. England is known for its beautiful and magical woodlands, you can read pretty much any English fantasy fiction writer’s novels to know that. I wasn’t able to visit the forests when I lived in England, but I sure hope I’ll have the opportunity to in the future.

This is terrible that they are wanting to sell off the forests!!! I went to the website and I noticed one of them is called “Sherwood Forest.” That made me think of Robin Hood!! I really hope enough people sign that petition so they don’t destroy them!!

I happen to have a friend who lives in England (Oh, actually I have…three! Including the people I know on LJ), so I’ll pass this along to her on her facebook. One of my LJ friends absolutely LOVES forests and nature in general, so I think I may be able to get her to sign this, too. ^^

Misty – That’s because the forest in Robin Hood is the exact same forrest as the one you saw! I sure hope so too, thanks for caring!

Lauren – Thanks so much for passing this petition along! I don’t know who wouldN’T want to sign this petition (except for those who want a part of that budget-cut, that is…)!
