Magical snowflakes

I found this short film by Joe Simon on The Owl Diary. Joe Simon is a wedding cinemetographer who lives in Austin, TX. He wanted to capture the abnormal snowfall in Austin and came up with this lovely little film. The forecast can’t make up it’s mind on whether or not it’ll snow here in a few days so maybe (hopefully) this video will be the last bit of snow I see this winter. I love the squirrel and how, in parts, it looks as though the snow is going backwards. Am I the only one who sees it that way?

Beautiful video.. the snowflakes are magical.

Actually, I think what he did was play the video in reverse so that the snowflakes are going back up to the sky.. he did the same thing with the squirrel when it was taking food from the birdhouse.

BTW, Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Ms. Eva at the FOURLEAFCLOVER!!

Marjorie Rose – Ha, thanks! Now if only I were Irish. Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you, too!

I thought that may have been the case, but in some parts it looks like they’re falling down. Maybe he switched it up here and there.

Wow, I didn’t even see your comment about the snowflakes going backwards until after I watched the video. I thought I was goin insane seeing it that way!! I think she is right though. It did look like he was playing the film backwards in parts. I noticed it with the squirrel (which is adorable!!) eating out of the bird feeder. This was such a cute video! And I’m super glad its not snowing here anymore!! Its actually 74 degrees here today!! Yay! I love spring time!!

And Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I hope you have a terrific thursday!!!

This is beautiful! I love that he (seemed to) use the footage of the snow falling backwards. It gives it a really beautiful, surreal effect.
