They Draw & Cook: recipes illustrated by artists from around the world

Pasta with Handfuls of Herbs by Naomi Bardoff

I’ve loved They Draw & Cook‘s artistic recipes ever since I laid eyes on them. They may even look yummier than the food itself! I try to be creative with my recipes, but they can’t even compare to these works of art. They Draw & Cook is a fantastic website for anyone who wants to combine two of their loves (art and food) or just for anyone who wants to make some food by following a fancy recipe. They also have a super cute Kids Draw & Cook site and a book will be released in October. I tried picking out my favorites, but there is such an immense variety of pretty recipes. Take a look for yourself, I just hope you’re not hungry! And if you’re wondering why there are so many fig recipes, it’s because they have a fig challenge going on right now.

This is so cute and so creative! Who would have thought to write out recipes out of drawings!? And I love the pictures!! Its a little confusing (to me though) to follow the recipe. Like, the first one, how do you know when to add what ingredients for the meal/item? Or maybe the words and picture is too small for me to tell how to follow the recipe lol either way, this is a super cool idea! When I get some free time, I will definitely have to go check out the recipes!!

These are great, Eva! So colorful and fun. Somehow, it’s easier for me to understand recipes when they’re accompanied by pretty illustrations. It’s the “creative” in me.

I only wish I knew how to draw, or had a friend who could draw my recipes for me. I would so love to be a part of this.

Misty – I think some of the recipes are more to look at than to follow (and I had to make them smaller to fit my blog, but if you click on them they go to the original source). I think some of the recipes have the written out recipe on the artist’s website.

Brandi – I found a couple recipes that made me think of you!

I wish I could draw one of these out, too! Would take a while, but I’m sure I’d love it.
