The clearer we should see through it

I spotted this image a few weeks ago on Billie Denise’s blog and was so pleased when I asked if I could share it here and she said yes! Billie is a graphic designer and I love how she illustrated this quote. Not only did the image catch my eye, but I’ve never read this quote before. It was said by Niccolรฒ Machiavelli who was an Italian writer, philosopher, and humanist. It made me stop and think about what I’ll be like when I’m older. I wonder if I really will know more than I do now, or if I’ll just have even more questions. I’d like to think I’ll be a wise old woman with a huge smile on my face, but for now I’d much rather just enjoy my time… and hopefully that’ll lead to that old woman or a happy version of it eventually. Do you think you’ll be able to see through the hourglass clearer as time goes on? Have you already noticed it? Either way, I wish you a glorious weekend!

I want to be an old lady with a smile on my face, too! And maybe sipping something delicious on a beautiful porch/patio. I think I could get used to that.

Can we be wise old women with big goofy smiles on our faces together? Or at least the most awesome 85-year-old pen pals that there ever were?

Love it. Adore those quotes that make you just pause for a bit to think about them. Hope you have a great weekend!!

I definitely think I see things clearer now than I did 10 years ago. But that’s one of the best things about life — we’re always learning from it.

This is beautiful. Although I’m not sure. I hope to be a wise old woman with a big smile! xo

Sometimes I think I see things more clearly and other times I think it’s just gotten blurrier. And sometimes I wish the things I can see more clearly, were blurrier because they were prettier and digestible that way.

Thank you so much for featuring me! I do love this quote… I know that we will all become wiser as time goes on, I just think my wisdom comes a little slower than everyone elses sometimes ๐Ÿ˜‰

When I am an old women, I don’t know if I will worry about how wise I am. Right now, I just hope that I will be happy and enjoy every minute I spend with my family (kids and hopefully grandkids!). Being wise is a virtue, however, most people don’t want advice from “an old person.” Even if they do know what they are talking about. PLUS!!!! I will eventually make my way to Australia ๐Ÿ™‚

I will say though, I do think I will be able to see clearer through the hour glass when I am older though. I have noticed ever since I graduated high school, I am already able to see more than what I did then. As you get older, you make mistakes as well as learn from them. These mistakes are what help you see clearer. I have made my share of mistakes and I have definitely learned from them. And these are just mistakes being a young adult still in college. I have yet to realize the real mistakes that can happen in the workplace or even the mistakes we have when we are parents. I hope to one day be able to experience these as well. It is only our mistakes that we really learn from and help us see clearer.
