Say no to cruel cosmetics in Europe

Did you know that this week is World Week for Animals in Laboratories (WWAIL)? I recently found this petition by the BUAV and the European Coalition to End Animal Experiments (ECEAE) for the immediate ban on any cosmetics tested on animals to be sold in Europe. A ban has already been made and is set to take place starting 2013, but now there’s talk of pushing that ban back for another 10 years! “12 million animals are used in European laboratories every year – that’s 137 animals suffering in cruel and painful experiments every 10 minutes.” [Source: ECEAE] That’s 120 million more animals that will have to needlessly suffer, for cosmetics! Every time I read something about animal testing, I get a horrible image of one of my beloved cats suffering in that way and I just cannot believe people would force animals to go through such suffering. Please sign this petition and ask everyone you know to do so as well (it’s open for everyone, not just those in Europe). If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to ask!

This IS sad! I signed the petition AND entered a comment as well! I hope they don’t get this pushed back another ten years! Animals shouldn’t have to go through this at all! Its just not fair :(

Thank you for signing, Misty!! I hope that America adopts Europe’s anti-cosmetic animal testing standards soon and THEN bans even the selling of products like this petition calls for!
