Sitting in nature, literally

I first saw these chairs on tumblr, but was so bummed when I couldn’t find the original source. Luckily, Desire to Inspire recently featured them as one of their “Blog favourites of the week” via Design Milk. These chairs are designed by Andrea Magnani, Giovanni Delvecchio, and Elisabetta Amatori and have been photographed by Andrea Piffari . They’re featured on the Italian site Resign which spotlights a variety of unique design projects. These Di Corte chairs have been recovered and restored back to their original finish, removing the artificial coating. The bark is real and from different trees such as the oak tree. It is “selected by typology and fitted on the chair like a dress”. They’re so beautiful, simple and natural. I also love who they chose to model the chairs!

Very cool, but don’t know if I could see them in my house.

Wow! Those chairs are so cool! That would go perfectly in a “nature” themed dining room or something! This post makes me think of when I get to move out and I get to design my own home. These would look great if you had the right theme to go with them. And the dog, he is just too cute!!! That also makes me want to have a dog when I get to move out as well! Do you know if the people who created these chairs actually have a company and sell them, as well as other types of furniture like them?

Misty – As far as I know, this is the only furniture that the designers designed using bark. The website, Resign, however, has a ton of different furniture pieces that you can check out. I’ve also linked to each designer in the post so you can see if they have anything similar. Hope that helps! ๐Ÿ™‚

These are the most beautiful chairs I’ve ever seen. I lived for a while in a log cabin built by my grandpa that had rough pieces of wood built in for design. These chairs would have completed that look!

these chairs are so cool! it’s a nice reminder that wood furniture is actually made from trees and don’t magically appear in stores (which i sometimes forget, haha)
