I won a giveaway! Mail + books: what’s not to love?
Can you tell how happy I am to have won these books? Rachel of Eat and Write had a whole week of giveaways and offered not one, but two books (shown above), on one of her days. The two books are The Conscious Cook by Tal Ronnen and The Oxford Book of Health Foods: The Science Behind Herbal Remedies and Nutrition by J. G. Vaughan and P. A. Judd.
When I saw that Rachel was offering these books, I was so excited because they’re about healthy, vegan foods. I first heard of Chef Tal Ronnen on Ellen (that’s The Ellen DeGeneres Show for those who don’t know… here’s the video of Tal Ronnen on the show if you’re interested). Ever since then, I wished I could have his book and now I do!
I hardly ever enter giveaways, I think this is the second or third I’ve entered within the past couple of years (if not more), because I hardly ever win anything (no, I’m not exaggerating) so I usually don’t bother entering. I actually think that’s a good thing, though, because it means that I only enter if I would really love to win what’s being offered. I wish everyone did that, but I’ve noticed that many people enter just to enter because it’s free stuff.
I don’t know what happened, but the tide turned in my direction for once and I won! These two lovely books. Rachel even included this super cute dinosaur card. I cannot wait to try out some of these recipes, learn more about food-friendly plants/herbs, and share with you! I’ve already spent a good amount of time being mesmerized by the pages and information. If you’re interested in the books, Rachel took some detailed photos of the pages.
If you haven’t visited Rachel’s blog Eat and Write, I highly suggest it. Just within the past few months that I’ve known her through the internet, I’ve realized how sweet and amazing she is and I’m so happy to have met her. Thanks again, Rachel!!
Have you ever won anything? Was it for something you absolutely wanted to have?
