How I spent my birthday… in magical Bodensee

This is where I spent a good chunk of my birthday. I wasn’t really sure what to expect when my brother Robert told me Bodensee (Lake Constance/Konstanz) would be a nice spot to go for my birthday, but when I came upon the sight above, I was more than pleased. After a small picnic by the shore, I wandered around a bit and took these photos (the ones of me are by Robert).

There was also a small petting zoo, but I’m assuming it was closed as there was no one around except for visitors and all of the animals behind unreachable fences. As for the castle, it’s currently home to a restaurant.

The weather was fantastic when I first arrived, but soon a storm started rolling in. Hence the darker photos as this post progresses. Luckily, it wasn’t until I was safe and sound at home that the rain caught up with me.

You’ll be seeing much more of the area across the lake on another time as I’ve been in Konstanz (the German side of the lake) once and enjoyed it so much (the amount of pictures I took are proof of that). Now, please do take a look at the beauty of this magical place!

How amazing is this?! I found a four leaf clover, and on my birthday no less! I’m taking it as a sign that this year of mine will be a very lucky one.

Wow! This place is absolutely gorgeous hon! And you look amazing! These photos really make me wish I could have been there to celebrate your birthday with you! It looks like you had a great time! I would LOVE to be able to celebrate my birthday in a place like this! Granted, my birthday is in December, so I doubt I would find a place that looks like this at all at that time! lol

That tree picture! Right after the ones of you by the tree is sooo cool looking! I love finding trees/roots that have some kind of cool design to them! I would have had a blast taking pictures of this place! I’m so glad you had a great birthday! Hopefully you have many, many more that were this great 🙂

Okay, I’m kind of dying over this place. (but not really, because that would be sad). Anyway, it’s 2:30 in the morning and I should be in bed, which means my brain isn’t functioning at its usual speed to draft a proper comment detailing how beautiful this place appears to be. I’m so glad you experienced it on your birthday!

The photos are amazing! That is such a beautiful area… I spent a year in Switzerland once on scholarship, lived in an artists’ residence above the Zuger See. It was the most beautiful and inspiring year of my life! I wish you a lucky four-clover year!:)

Eva, this place is incredible! And I love how you found a four leaf clover on your birthday. I think that’s a sign. I seriously wish I could book myself a plane ticket to Switzerland. There’s just so much beauty to explore there.

Well, on such a magical day in such a magical place, how could you not find a four leaf clover? 🙂

I think there are an abundance of really breathtaking places on this planet, but I truly believe that you live in one of the most beautiful.

Tell Robert he took some wonderful photos of you, and if he picked Bodensee as a place to take you for your birthday, he chose very well indeed and is a brother worth having! 🙂 That lake is so serenely beautiful and that majestic tree looks like it’s enjoying a Swiss vacation from its home in the California Redwoods! As always, I love the fairytale buildings.

Thank you again for sharing your fun birthday with us! I wish you a year filled with four-leaf clover days!
