You change your world

This is something I’ve been trying to accept into my life and make as familiar as breathing. The phrase “easier said than done” fits better here than anywhere else in my life. You see, realizing that my thoughts have an actual change on how I feel and how the world feels and reciprocates sounds like magic, unbelievable!

This is very foreign to me and not at all what I grew up with. In school and the media, I can only remember hearing and seeing gossip, put downs, competition, and more… all of which reflected extreme negativity. I thought this was all there was, the way of the world.

Now I know that it’s not and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. The world is not doomed and we can turn it around, there are those thinking good things and making sure positivity continues to shine. Sometimes I think what the world would be like if every single person thought positively, even if only for one minute. How beautiful that one minute would be!

Do you believe that your thoughts can and do change your world? Our world? Do you find it hard to change your thoughts to happy thoughts?

Funny coincidence: I knew when I wrote this quote down that it’s by Norman Vincent Peale. I did not know that he was the author of The Power of Positive Thinking which just so happens to be a book I heard about for the first time this week (in this great article) and immediately thought “I want to read this!” Funny, small world we live in.

I LOVE this and absolutely believe it. Sometime we forget it’s our choice how we feel. Thanks for inspiring (with the written post and the picture).

I really needed to read this today, and it is something I have to seriously work on. It is totally true, and I am feeling good about making that positive change! Thanks Eva πŸ™‚

I definitely believe that by changing our thinking, we inadvertently change our actions. It’s not so much that thinking positive thoughts actually causes change to occur: instead, I like to believe that thinking positively influences our own ability to take charge, manifest the thoughts into reality and make those changes happen. Make sense?

I do believe our thoughts can change everything. They shape the world in ways that we see and in ways that we don’t. So I try to stay positive and think a lot about all the good things that are coming my way.

This reminds me of a monologue that an acquaintance of mine performed and posted online many years ago. And I’m Not Fucking Around (there’s a link to the audio recording of the performance as well as the transcript). Namely, it reminded me of the part where he gets into Experience = Reality x Fantasy.

It’s such a beautiful, simple message but so easy to forget… thanks for the reminder, Eva! Positive thinking is so amazing, it really can change your world πŸ™‚

I so do believe that my thoughts can have an impact on my life as well as others. Postive thinking makes positive things happen (or help us to better cope with negative things)!

Happy monday to you!! πŸ™‚

You’re all very welcome.. I’m happy this post (photo, quote, words) resonated with you and that you all try to think positively to create positivity. πŸ™‚

Kayla – I understand what you mean, but I think it’s so much more than that. I really do think our thoughts can change the world, not just that one person’s world.

Nikkiana – Thank you for sharing that link! It reminds me a bit of what I wrote about for my last life tip, as well. I’m liking the equation and the way they explained it.

Eva, thanks for your response, but I want to clarify…I very much believe that thinking positively can actually change the world and not just one person’s world. But, I also believe that we as people need to make that change happen. Thinking about it is a wonderful place to begin and those who follow through with changing their actions based on those happy thoughts are the ones who actually make significant difference. I also think we need to give more credit to making ourselves as individuals happy…because if we don’t take care of ourselves first, are we really able to fully immerse in making the world at large a better and happier place? Hope this makes sense, I just want to continue the dialogue πŸ™‚

Kayla – I’m so glad you checked if I wrote a response and have continued the conversation! I completely agree with all that you’ve written. I often times say that we need to learn to love ourself before we should even begin to love another in an intimate way. And how can someone expect another to love them if they don’t even love themselves? The same can be said about the world as a whole, like you said. Thank you for replying!

I totally and completely agree with this quote! I rememeber, as I’m sure you do as well, that almost all the time when it came to anything in my life (work, school, my body, etc.) I would be so negative. Thinking it doesn’t matter what I do, its never gonna be what I want/good enough. And honestly, since I thought that way, nothing got better. It wasn’t until I started thinking positively about things that things started to change for me. This also goes hand in hand with, nothings going to change unless you change it. I mean, if you think negatively and don’t do anything to change it, things will not turn out the way you want. But if you know you can change things and think positively, things will be different.

I believe that if you put your mind to, you can change the world. It won’t be anything HUGE per say but everything we do or say does have an impact on our world. If you have positive thoughts and keep having positive thoughts, I think your behavior will change for the better and it may even rub off on other people. If people see that you are positive and that good things are happening for you, they may start to change their attitude about things also (maybe anyway).

The only downside, you can’t change people and make them be positive. That will never be possible unless they want to. I have friends who say they are always positive but nothing good happens for them. And of course, they always go on and on and on about how their life isn’t good. Ironic, huh? They are being totally negative and yet say they are positive. I have tried talking to them about changing their attitude about things and they say they try but it never works. They expect miracles to happen in a day and don’t want to change their attitude and the way they think for a long period of time. They just want to do it for the time being. People don’t realize that you have to want to be and stay positive and work for it for things to change. They don’t want to work for it. But thats the thing, you HAVE TO. You have to work for everything you want in life, its not like people are just going to hand it over to you. You have to earn it. And thats what people have problems with. They don’t want to do any work to get there.

Ok! I think I’m done rambling here lol Sorry if I strayed off of the topic but writing one thing made me think of something else and so on! lol Great post though! I love this quote and definitely need to work on this more as well!!

Misty – I wish those who continue to be so negative would read your comment, ha! Have you ever mentioned to them what you wrote here? I’m guessing they don’t even notice it.
