The love of a cat

This is the image of Kuba on the flyers I had hung up which I was able to take down today, because… Kuba came home!! Last night at about 3am, all on his own! He was perfectly fine other than being very hungry and thin. THANK YOU for being so amazing and patient with me. Maybe all those good vibes gave him the nudge he needed to come on back home. ; )

I wanted to find a quote that mentions the great love all animals show us and that we should show them, but couldn’t find one that was just right. If you know of any, I’d love to hear them! I decided to settle on this quote from Charles Dickens. I’ve got to agree with him and I felt it all the more today when Kuba kept purring anytime I pet him (he’s definitely happy to be back home in a warm bed, with food in his belly, and a family that was eagerly awaiting his return).

Are there any non-human animals in your family? Have there ever been? Do you want there to be? Fill me in on your animal love (and I sure hope you have a lot, from the response I got, I know many of you do!). Share links and photos of your furry (or scaly, feathery, etc.) friends! Have a marvelous weekend, my friends… with my family whole again, I know I will!

Wow, I was out of the loop so I didn’t know about Kuba going off on a grand adventure and worrying his mom! I’m sure glad he’s back home, safe and sound. I know how much I’ve worried during the few times when one of our dogs has vanished during a hike. I always find them at home, relaxing in the shade, and claiming they never heard me hollering their name! Yarite. ;-)

The animals who have shared my life are many and varied, from fish to horses. Right now we have three rescued dogs, two mice and a horse. Can’t imagine our family being a family without critter people in it! :-)

Enjoy your weekend with your furry family, Eva!

Such wonderful news, Eva! So glad to hear he has returned. Kuba looks like such a cute little lion of a cat and very hugable!

I have one cat at the moment Phoebe who is 15 years old and still going strong. My other cat Bowie died late last year sadly (we still miss him), aged 11. They make such great companions :)) Here’s a link to some photos:

He came home!! :D
I didn’t get to comment, but I was sending out positive vibes just the same. :) I was hoping and praying that he’d come home to you safe and sound.

I’m so glad he’s okay. He’s so beautiful. :)

(I loved that picture of all five of your cats in that post, by the way…so cute! And the backdrop out the window was so pretty, too)

Eva, I’m so thrilled he came home! (Of course, as I write this, one of my cats has settled onto my lap for a snuggle. I think it would drive me crazy to not know where one of them are.) Hope you two are cuddling today. If only he could tell you about his adventure!

Your cat was missing? Oh no, that must have been so terrible. But I’m so happy for you that he is back! I would not know what to do if my dog Fritzi went missing. Once he ran after a deer in the forest and came back 20 minutes later. Those felt like the longest 20 minutes of my life. :) It’s just wonderful to have an animal as a familymember – they give so much unconditional love. Here is a link with a picture of Fritzi – I’m so in love with that little noodle, that I post about him all the time, haha… http://www.greenderella.com/animals/fritzi-the-tennis-ball-collector/

I’m so happy he came home, hooray!!! As you know, Billy is my furry soulmate, and has no idea he is a dog (and neither do I)…I have an archive filled with only him. ;)

AAAHHHH!!!! Kuba! Where have you been? Now, you must start sharing your stories. I bet you traveled A LOT and have the best experiences to share. In the meantime, stay close to home. Your family loves you a lot and it’s hard for them when you’re gone! Eva, this made my day!

Kuba must of been out catting around, so glad for you that Kuba is back now.

I miss having animals, but it is just not fair for me to have them since we travel so much. I can go to my daughters and talk to her cat Chloe when I get to missing them to much.

Cats are my fav. Don’t like dogs at all. We don’t have any animals…but we have 3 strays that hang out on our patio furniture and a horny lizard that prowls our plants for any lizard with legs… :)

Oh my gosh he is adorable. I am so glad to hear he came home safe and sound. I unfortunately don’t have any animals but I really want to get a cat. It’s just hard because I’ll be moving out soon and I don’t know if I’ll be able to find an animal-friendly place.
Give Kuba a big old hug for me, will ya? :) He is so cute.

Thanks so much for your amazing comments and for sharing your own non-human, animal family members with me!! Loved the photos and hearing about others’ love for animals.

Kuba is still super happy and purring all the time. The weight is almost all back and the cold he has is gone.

i am so SO happy for you!!! i would be an absolute wreck if my cat ran off. my animals are definitely my family, friends, & beloved roomies. i worry every time i leave my chloe cat, i always have. but i know that life happens and we can’t always prevent our loved ones from harm. it’s pretty much my biggest fear to lose chloe cat and never know what happened. so i’m just so relieved that you didn’t have to deal with that. that your dear kuba is home safe and sound! yay! yay!! yay!!!
