The mysterious castle only a short drive away

Almost every time I get in the car, I drive by Schloss Herblingen (Herblingen Castle in English). It’s currently a private home to multiple tenants, so those who go by it can only get a tease of the outside. Along the woods next to it, there are statues and I’ve seen deer a couple times. I’d love to tell you some history, but unfortunately not much is known. Either way, I hope you enjoy these fall photos of mine from a trip many months ago.

The most beautiful I’ve ever seen this castle was when the field in front was covered in yellow and vibrant rapeseed. I wish I’d taken a photo to show you and to keep as a memory, but it’ll have to remain framed in my mind until the sight reoccurs.

There’s just something about castles, isn’t there? They’re always so mysterious and charming to me. I love to wonder about those who used to dwell inside many, many years ago.

I totally know what you mean about being curious and a little in love with castles. I can’t get enough of them! Every time I see one around Austria, I too wonder about it’s story and the people who once inhabited it. They’re just so enchanting. Your Schloss Herblingen is no exception.

Hii! I’m so sorry it’s been so long since I’ve commented on your blog!

There definitely is something about castles that makes them so unique and fascinating. Just walking around them, you can feel what it was like to live hundreds of years ago in such places. ๐Ÿ™‚
Those pictures are gorgeous! What fun it would be to live in a castle in present day!

I love old buildings, especially castles and churches. They just have that feeling to them. It’s really too bad you can’t get inside this one to see what secrets it holds.

Insanely jealous of this beautiful place being in your back yard! I know everything will work out about you going to university, just like everything will work out about me finding a job ๐Ÿ™‚ And I think we should always take the road less traveled by!
