I won’t live without it, I won’t let it go

This morning I got a pretty great surprise: one of my favorite artists Colbie Caillat (she’s my second most played artist on my Last.fm) has come out with a new single and her album will be released soon! The song is called I Do. Colbie Caillat is a singer-songwriter from Malibu, California and found fame with her first single Bubbly and she’s been on the charts ever since. I loved her music instantly because there were so many male artists with this acoustic, beachy sound, but I hadn’t heard very many females singing on the same wave. I absolutely love her upbeat, care-free songs.

I love when artists take a stand for something they care about and Colbie happens to be one of those artists. She teamed up with the Surfrider Foundation which “is a non-profit grassroots organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our world’s oceans, waves and beaches.” It strives to clean the ocean to protect marine life and keep beaches a safe and happy place for people. They’ve already had 150 victories! If you’d like to join the Surfrider Foundation or find out more information about the organization, just click the above image or here.

Listen to the song and tell me what you think! Are you a Colbie fan?

I don’t know if I’d call myself a fan, but I do like her music. She’s got such a beautiful voice.

Isn’t this song amazing? I just downloaded it off iTunes myself. I wasn’t aware of her efforts with cleaning up the oceans. That just makes me like her even more. 🙂
