What lives within us

I have this one final photo to share with you from Bern. This is a Henry David Thoreau quote. I’ve been intrigued by Thoreau ever since my junior year in high school where I first had the opportunity to learn about him and we had a whole section on Transcendentalism. I love how connected to nature he was. Thoreau along with Ralph Waldo Emerson and a few others, whose quotes I’m sure will be making their appearance on Four Leaf Clover, are high up on my to-read list. As for this quote, I find it really beautiful and I knew it would fit with this image as soon as I read it. I love small, friendly alleyways like this, especially if the other side looks just as nice. All my life I’ve been thinking about the future and this past week my mind has been in the past, but it all comes down to how we feel, what we do with our lives, and what’s inside. We just need to truly realize that and follow our hearts. I wish you a splendid weekend!

I loved the photos AND the quote. Perfect little thing to be thinking about… And for some reason, it made me think of the book I’m currently reading, the Elegance of the Hedgehog. You might like it (if you haven’t already read it).

G.M. – I do believe I’ve heard of the Elegance of the Hedgehog, but I’ve never read it. Will definitely read more into it, thank you!
