Give water to people, not jeans

One of my dreams is to be able to walk into any store and know that whatever I buy is good for the world, for others, and for me. Wishful thinking, I know, but it would be pretty fantastic and it’s sad that our world has become what it is today. It’s great when big companies do something to lessen their footprint and get a message out there. Back in January, I watched this cool video and read about Levi’s new campaign over on Good. The Water<Less campaign will start taking place this month.

What if your jeans could save up to…
16 million liters of water?
533,333 average showers?
67,636,117 glasses of water?
2,666,666 toilet flushes?

They’ve got a really interesting video on their site which shows how they wash and create the look of their jeans without using water. I’ve also posted a few of their water saving tips which they’ve designed in a cute and funny way. You can check out the rest of their tips at their Water<Less page. I have to admit I wash my jeans more than every two weeks so that’s something I need to work on.

Not only are they trying to save water, but Levi’s also states that they “will provide clean drinking water to communities in need around the world”. I’m not sure how they plan on doing this yet, but I’ve signed up for their email which they’ve asked for help in distributing clean water so we’ll see! I definitely suggest checking out their Water<Less page. They have a ton of great facts that aren’t just about jeans. I hope they they start to use this method of creation on all of their jeans soon.

What a wonderful campaign they have going on! I love how when we think about all the little things we can do, we find out what a big difference they can make.

That’s really awesome that Levi’s is doing this. Yay for corporate responsibility! 😀
Seriously though, it’s great to hear, and I hope they continue to do even more good. =)

This is awesome! I was actually just thinking the other day how much water we waste! My family washes our clothes twice a week probably (not all the same clothes) but thats still alot of water being used! I’m so glad they are trying to help save water and the enviornment!

And I LOVE your pictures you added to this!! They are super cute!
