Time to Wander into Gypsy & The Cat

I haven’t loved an entire album from a band, that is completely new to me, this much in so long! Gypsy & The Cat‘s song Time to Wander has made this Monday a fantastic one. Music is my best kind of therapy. A huge thank you to Kelly Ann of The Flowerchild Dwelling for including this song in her Monday Music mix. Gypsy & The Cat are made up of Australians Xavier Bacash and Lionel Towers and Gilgamesh is their debut album. Time to Wander and Jona Vark are two of their three singles released thus far (featured below). The third is The Piper’s Song which is also superb.

This video was quite unexpected. I wish I was in London during the performance. Seeing the tube stations and Million Bridge where I’ve been countless times made me miss London. It’s a quirky video, but it definitely radiates happiness like the song.

Every single song on Gilgamesh has surprised me in a super positive way. While the majority of the songs on the album make me want to get up and dance, the others make me sit in contemplation. Our days may not have background music like the movies, but there are certain albums you listen to over and over again and they create an amazing atmosphere. That is what you remember when you listen to a song or you get a particular feeling that takes you back to the first moment you heard a tune. I wish I could share every single one of the songs off of the album with you, but for now I was lucky enough to find my two favorite songs with accompanied videos which are almost as fantastic as the songs themselves. I do believe that I have found my spring soundtrack.
