Life tip #11: Relax

Good Monday to all of you amazing people! I hope you’re taking some time to relax today. We’ve all heard the saying “life is short”, but how often do we do something about it? While many would look at this phrase and think I need to hurry up!, I think what’s most important to me? For the past couple of weekends I’ve been soaking up the sun and fresh air and I’ve already noticed a huge boost in my happiness and optimism. I won’t lie, the arrival of spring has a lot to do with it and I’m so thankful it’s finally here! I know there’s so much that needs to be done, but there’s something that’s even more important: living my life. On my survey, many of you said that I should only post once a day (but there’s so much to write about guys!), one person even wrote that I was insane for posting twice every single day, ha! Honestly, thank you to whoever wrote that. Since when did life become a race? Get the most done you possibly can today and then repeat. We rarely make time to “stop and smell the roses”.  I need to relax and not worry so much about what needs to be done and what hasn’t been done yet (while still working towards my dreams). I know you must be thinking easy for you to say, but I’m sure just a few minutes to an hour each day of relaxing (especially outdoors), will do you a lifetime of good. Now I’m off on a bike ride… Enjoy your day!

P.S. If you need a bit of motivation, check out Relax, Take It Easy by Mika. It helped me so much a couple years ago when I had almost had too much to deal with. It was on repeat!

I had such a busy day – When I came home I layed in the garden on a blanket and read for a bit and even napped – it was the perfect ending!

Thank you for this post (although I did just publish my second post). With less than two months till the wedding and an insane amount of work deadlines to meet, I am turning into quite the little stressball.
You reminded me to breathe. 🙂

I love this picture as well as the tip! Relaxing is something we don’t do enough of!! And I must say, I am definitely the queen of NOT relaxing!!! Work, school, more work, and more school! Thats basically all my life is now! However, I must say, I am starting to relax a little bit, even if it is for only a few minutes! Today, I read one of my books for about an hour! So that was nice 🙂

As summer approaches, I am going to start finding time to enjoy my time outside! I am going to try and talk Rich into going on walks with me when the weather is nice out when we hang out now. So far he is ok with it, but the weather hasn’t permitted it yet (its always rainy now). So hopefully he doesn’t change his mind! And hopefully, I will be able to skype with you outside! That will be nice as well 🙂

Great tip!! Everyone definitely needs to learn to relax a little bit each day! It will reduce the amount of stress in our lives as well as make us happy!

Believe me, this is one I’m working on. First step, no more food at the computer. Second, I have to set aside “me” time each night. Actually, I’m going to go ahead and do that now. Happy Monday, Eva!

Great advice! Everyone needs to remember to slow down and smell the roses every now and again and it doesn’t hurt to be reminded of that

Pretty much my life mantra. That, and “be kind.” They’ve served me well so far!
