Will you be my otter half?

If you’re one of the few who haven’t seen this video, prepare yourself to see cuteness overload. This is probably my very favorite YouTube video. When I first watched it a few years ago, I shared it with everyone around. I was recently reminded of it when I watched a program about sea otters. No one should have to miss out on seeing this video. After watching the sea otter program I discovered that otters purposely hold onto each other’s hands so that they don’t drift away from one another out at sea. It’s nice to see that humans aren’t the only ones to make a gesture like this and hold hands with their loved ones. My favorite part is where he propels his tale to get back to her and reaches out his paw for hers. I have to admit, I stole the title from adda180188 in the comments below the video.

oh yeah, i remember this. very sweet. dannon and i went on a big biking/sea kayaking trip along the california coast and saw tons of otters wrapped up in the seaweed, just hanging out {they wrap themselves in seaweed so they don’t float away}. on that same trip we came across a man from the monterey bay rescue & rehabilitation institute holding a teeny baby otter. the baby had gotten stranded on shore so the man was roaming the coast letting the baby cry until the mom came running {momma’s can hear their babies from miles away}. if the mom never came they were going to raise the baby until it was safe to release back into the wild at the otter sanctuary at monterey bay. i tell you, that baby otter was by far the cutest thing i have every seen!!

I love that — that they hold hands so they don’t drift away from each other while at sea. I can’t imagine anything more sweet or cute. I’m tearing up here!

Omg. I think I want to be a an otter. Or maybe I am an otter. I feel like my whole life sentiment is wrapped up in this video…if that makes sense.

This is adorable! My favorite part is when the otter reaches over to take the other otter’s hand again…

This video is amazing! I was just at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. They rescue otters and keep them safe at the aquarium if they are too weak to be in the wild. I fell in love with them! I love how they just float on the water and clean themselves and how in the wild they wrap themselves up in kelp to secure themselves while they sleep!

Kim – That must have been an amazing experience and sight! I really hope the pup was reunited with its mama soon after you saw it!

Annalisa – I was a bit worried after you said aquarium, but I’m glad it’s one that actually helps the animals and releases them when/if they are strong enough to. That may even be the one they showed in the tv show I watched!

I am SO glad all of you loved this video/sea otters as much as I do! I’ll make sure to continue posting adorable animal videos for you guys.. they’re always a hit on here & I love it! 🙂

This video was absolutely adorable!! It reminds me of the old couples who are always together, hand in hand, and never stray far from the other. If they do leave each others sides they go right back to one another! This was so precious! It makes me hope that me and Rich will be like that when we get old! Ha, I don’t think he would want that though! I think it would be cute though!
