What you might have been

Happy Fotoquote Friday! I like when people match days with an adjective that starts with the same letter like Fabulous Friday or Tremendous Tuesday so, while it’s not an adjective, Fridays here on FLC will be Fotoquote Fridays from now on. Hope you’re alright with that!

Doesn’t this image look familiar? It’s the same photograph I used for my life tip this week! I liked both versions too much not to share them with you.

As many of you know, I’m hoping to go to university soon. I’ve been busy looking at different courses in the UK this past weekend and this whole week which is why I’ve only posted once per day. Since I’m so used to posting twice per day almost every single day, I feel like I’m slacking and behind, but hopefully I’ll catch up with a whole bunch of great posts I’ve got planned next week!

I chose this quote by English novelist George Eliot (also known as Mary Anne Evans) because, well… I love it, but specifically because during my university search I keep getting in this mindset that whatever I choose now will determine the rest of my life. I needed this little reminder to relax and see university more as a learning process (literally and figuratively) rather than a solution or conclusion to my life.

We should look at everything in that way. A move, job, relationship, and any kind of change. It’s just another step in life that will lead to many more steps and it’s never too late to change course or decide to be someone different. If you don’t like where you’re going or what you’re doing… simply change it. What we learn along the way can only benefit our lives.

I hope all of you have a truly wonderful weekend and thank you so much, as always, for reading. I appreciate it more than you could ever know. You’re such an encouragement and joy every single day.

Oh, I almost forgot… I put up a new poll if you’re interested! I switched up the bottom of my sidebars – let me know what you think! It’s different, but I quite like it.

Bonjour Eva. Thank you so much for your comment on my blog, for complimenting my work, and also, so that I had the opportunity to find your blog, too. I love your work here and your positive direction. It’s really nice to see and find – keep it up. Thanks for complimenting my journal and photos, I hope it brings you inspiration. I’m always focusing on smaller details that go less noticed. I think it makes my journey, whether it’s travel, or just in life, all the more interesting.

Have a beautiful weekend.

Hey Eva, It is uncanny but Gratefulness.org had this quote today and I was going to send it to you. It has such an important message which you expounded upon beautifully. Amazing flower, too.

Thank you for the wisdom you share.

Blessings,
Jeannie

That’s what I’m hoping for — that all these changes I’m planning for right now will help me make some bigger and smaller changes as well.

As for the poll, I don’t know how to answer anymore. My vegan/gluten-free/processed food-free/low sugar days this week felt awesome and I know I want more of those. That said, I don’t get enough calories on those days so I’m sure I’ll be including some sweet desserts, dairy, eggs, and maybe fish/turkey/chicken on occasion. I don’t know. I’m exploring what makes me feel best right now and am a bit confused of where I’ll land.

Rachel – Thank you! πŸ™‚

Dakota – Thank you for stopping by Four Leaf Clover! I’m glad you notice the positivity I try to keep up here & definitely plan on continuing it. For sure about the details and helping through life! I look forward to seeing more of your travels.

Jeannie – What a small world we live in! I’m so glad you told me & love this quote as much as I do. This isn’t the usual way I’ve looked at this quote, but with all that’s going on lately, I now read this quote with many different meanings.

Brandi – I suppose you could be “other” or even a “flexitarian” (someone who only on occasion eats meat) for my poll. I’m so pleased to read that your cleanse went so well! There are so many ways to get enough calories in a healthy, filling way that also benefits the world. Definitely listen to your body and go for the healthiest choices you can when giving it the energy it needs. I’m planning a food post to cover some healthy eating points soon so hopefully that’ll be a bit helpful!

I agree completely – sometimes we got too caught up with looking at the bigger pictures when it’s the small steps to the end that are meaningful. The big picture is great for a goal, but can definitely work against you & make you feel badly if you’re not careful.

This is one of my favorite quotes – it’s one of those things that remind you that hope is never lost, but also that make you feel like getting off your ass and make something of yourself πŸ˜‰

The quote is so true, we need to remember this more often and simply relax. I believe that everything happens for a reason and that if one door is closing another will open. Makes life easier from time to time πŸ™‚
Happy Monday!!
