Australia suspends live exports

I love getting good news in my email! This morning I found out that Australia has suspended live exports for up to six months to give them time to figure out the best way to regulate live exports. If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, please check out my take action post on banning live exports in Australia. Also, if you haven’t yet, please take action by signing the petitions listed in the post and spreading the word. I love when there are results that come out of many voices speaking up. These animals cannot speak for themselves so it’s up to us to do that for them.

Unfortunately, there are still approximately 100,000 exported animals currently in Indonesia that risk undergoing the same type of treatment that awoke this public outrage in the first place. Not to mention all of the animals around the whole world that are experiencing torture all in the name of food.

For more information, you can read the email I received from GetUp! with the update and/or watch their video below. Thank you to everyone who took action!

Wow! This video is heartbreaking!! I signed the petition last week when I read that post. I’m glad they are banning it for atleast 6 months. I just hope that they continue to ban it after that! And I hope they do something about Indonesia and all the other countries! This is just not right 🙁 At least we did get good news about this though!!
