Life tip #29: Make the most of today

Happy Monday, friends! Thank you so much for your words of encouragement on my last post, I appreciate it so much! A little bit of that worry and stress is getting covered up by excitement now. Knowing that I’ve got you to back me up when/if I feel like I’m falling helps, too.

How amazing is this little paragraph? I found it over the weekend and, guess what, had to share it! Unfortunately, it’s by an unknown/anonymous source and I couldn’t even trace this image back to its original. I like how they used the metaphor of time is money.

We’re always thinking “I can’t afford that”, “I don’t have the money”, “if only I had $___”, but what we all do have, as far as we know, is time. At least those few seconds. And we should be making the most of the time we have. The most out of life. Because it’s a gift.

After looking around for the original source, some others added this on to the paragraph:

To realise the value of ONE YEAR, ask a student who failed a grade.
To realise the value of ONE MONTH, ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby.
To realise the value of ONE WEEK, ask the editor of a weekly newspaper.
To realise the value of ONE HOUR, ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.
To realise the value of ONE MINUTE, ask a person who just missed a train.
To realise the value of ONE SECOND, ask someone who just avoided an accident.
To realise the value of ONE MILLISECOND, ask the person who won a silver medal at the Olympics.

Treasure every moment that you have! And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time with. And remember time waits for no one.

Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. Thatโ€™s why its called the present.

How inspiring. To think, we often count down minutes in anticipation to something too. I love the see beautiful nature of embracing every single second. Thank you.

All you’ve said is so true. The last week without power has really gotten me thinking about how I use my time, and there’s so much I could do better. Best to start now, right?

I absolutely LOVE this quote post! It is so true. As sad as it is, I definitely need to take this into account. I spend too much time worrying about the small things and getting upset over stupid stuff. I need to learn to let go of it. I have started working on this but this post just makes me want to work harder. No one should spend the time they have upset/mad at someone over something that won’t matter 2 days after it happened. This will be another goal I keep in mind for the coming months. I say months, mainly because it is going to be very stressful with school, so I don’t know how much I will be able to control how emotional I get lol But I will work on it ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for sharing this post! I think I may even save it to my desktop for a daily reminder ๐Ÿ™‚
