Life tip #17: Make time

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a great weekend! I was busy the whole time, but it was a very good busy and I imagine this week will be just as busy, if not more. This image is of a flower, in case you were wondering. I love how some of the petals look like butterfly wings. I’ve had the life tip “manage time” before, but this is a bit different. How often have you wanted to do something, but said “I don’t have time!”? We’ve all been there, but when it comes to something like watching a TV show, surfing the web, playing that game on the Wii/Playstation/computer/etc. we seem to have an endless amount of time. This past week I realized I needed to get a lot done in a short amount of time and decided to not watch the TV shows that I’d normally watch (only two, but still) and instead work. Guess what? I’m not missing those shows and I don’t plan on watching them anymore. The world did not come to an end. Instead of sitting up late completing all that I had to do on the computer, I chose sleep and had so much more time the following day and finished what I needed done. It all goes back to that age-old question “what will you remember on your last day?” Will it be watching the endless hours of that one show/playing a game for months and months or will it be spending time with those you love and doing what you love? There are so many fun things that can be done with others and that benefit your health and life. It’s a matter of finding out what those things are and filling our lives with them. Work as hard as you can, if you need to, to get to that dream job so that not even working feels like working and ends up benefiting your life and all of those in the world.

Some things I plan on making more time for:

    Making healthy foods
    Eating mindfully
    Exercise
    Spending time outdoors
Spending quality time with those in my life

What are some important things that you need to make time for in your life or already have? Another well-known saying that fits perfectly here: take time to smell the roses!

This is beautiful Eva! Good for you. I completely agree that we have time, we just need to make time. There are so many ways in the world to zap our energy + time! Thanks for sharing. x

Right now, I’m all about making more time for me…and the papers I have to write too (I just wish I could stop falling asleep as I do my readings). And the funny thing is that I have a post about managing time going up tomorrow! It seems you and I are on the same wavelength this week, Eva!

Eva a Ty? Tak długo pracujesz? Ciągle masz mało czasu. Pozdrawiam.

I came over here via Have Cake Will Travel, and it’s so inspiring, beautiful and unique! I think I read almost all your posts today haha. The one about Sapcio especially touched me a lot:my cat left home three years ago,and I finally saw him,one street over, a few weeks ago! it made me so happy to see him, even though I knew he was safe via telepathy.I am glad he is fine,it is really a hard thing when your loved animal disappears.
It looks so beautiful where you live;I’ve been there before, and the serenity and spirit and nature was amazing, reminding me of Scotland.
Keep up the wonderful blogging,I will definitely be reading!

Great post! I read somewhere that if you want more time, turn off the TV. What I do now is either fold my laundry or do some sit-ups to make the time worth it.

I’m definitely guilty of crying “I don’t have time!” while I lounge on the couch watching movies. This post is a great kick in the butt!

Yes, I too, cut out almost all tv. And I’m trying to be more mindful about my internet time during the week. It’s hard to not read blogs on a daily basis but sometimes I just need quality time with my love and family and friends and that quality time is quite precious during the work week.

I loved this Eva. It’s true, the world will NOT END if we don’t get the things done that we feel like we “have” to do. I’m so guilty of that.
I need to make more time for my family, and other loved ones! I tend to spend too much time doing the things I need to do instead of spending time with them.
I also like your idea of more exercise. I NEVER exercise so I am going to make a goal to do that as well.
