Life tip #16: Do less/more

First, I have to say thank you so much to those who commented on my last two posts, especially on my vineyard walk travel post. You’re much too kind to me! That’s another do less/more I could have written: criticize less/thank more. Which made me think of take less/give more. There are so many things you could do less of and, in place, do more good. Spend less time shopping, more time with loved ones; complain less, be grateful more; etc. What are some “do less/more” things you can think of? Remember that less is almost always so much more. Today: frown less, smile more!

We’ve been working on the “watch TV less/read more part.” After a long day it is so tempting to veg out, but I really love reading and getting whisked away to another place after work too. It’s good for my mind.

Is it bad that right now “rush less/savor more” is totally at the top of my list? “Watch less/read more” too. Honestly, I can think of so many of these that are so true to my life right now. I’ve gotten into some bad habits over the past 5 months. It’s time to get out of them.

Hannah – I know what you mean and that was just as much of a reminder to me as it is a life tip to share on here.

Brandi – Not bad at all! They say realizing the problem is the first step. : )

Mary – Thank you!

Karla – Wow.. really?! That’s so awesome! I’ve thought about printing out all of my life tips and decorating one wall with them as a constant reminder. I love that you like this so much you’re wanting to see it every single day! : )

These are such great messages that I need to read daily. They would truly make such a huge difference in my life if I could focus on these each and every day!

This is so true! It especially stands true with the tv and the computer. Electronics less/people more! As much as I love my blog and the endless inspiration on the internet..i find myself with my computer at all times! A bit of balance could do my life well!

This is a great reminder! I love Brandi’s “rush less/savor more,” and definitely need your “criticize less/thank more” on my list, along with my own contribution to this valuable list: “worry less/trust more.”

These are great tips to live by! Right now, I like “work less/play more.” People stress about work ALL the time and are consumed by it almost 24/7. When you leave the “office” at night, your supposed to leave all your work worries at work, not take them home with you. That is not the case anymore. People go home and don’t enjoy being home because they are worried about not getting something done for work, being late for work, etc. They never take the time at night to just play around and have some fun. That is something I want to work on. I know when I leave work, if I’m in a bad mood, it carries over with me when I go home and I never have any fun. I’m hoping if I keep the right attitude, I can change this.

I love all these though! They are great reminders! I especially love the “watch less/read more” one! That one I am working on right now! There are maybe 3 hours during the entire week I actually watch tv (not bad, right? lol) and now I am usually reading or doing something else. And since it is starting to actually be nice outside, I am working on being outside more! So I’m hoping this will all help me do less of what stresses me out/whats bad for me and more of what I love and what makes me happy ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for this post! Its such a great thing to remind you of what is good/bad!!
